Continuing the visit program of the American media delegation from ABC7

Continuing with the visit by the American media delegation from ABC7, today's second day was dedicated to exploring additional tourist and cultural landmarks that dot Algiers.

The program began with a visit to the Church of the African Virgin, overlooking the Algerian Gulf with a beautiful maritime view, where the delegation members listened to detailed explanations from the site's managers regarding its unique architectural history and its distinguished cultural and religious significance.

The tour continued with a visit to the Dey's Palace, showcasing the elegance of Ottoman architecture and its originality, followed by the statue of Bouloghen ben Zerir, founder of the Kasbah of Algiers. The delegation also explored the ancient alleyways and traditional markets of the Kasbah, pausing at the Ketchaoua Mosque and the Martyrs' Square.

The morning tour concluded with a visit to the Riassar el-Baïr Palace (Fort 23), one of the most prominent landmarks illustrating the capital's maritime history, where the delegation expressed great admiration for the rich cultural and historical atmosphere present in these unique heritage sites.

Then, the delegation had lunch at the Hôtel d'Algérie, where the occasion provided a chance to learn about the historical features of this landmark hotel, and to view the famous "Eisenhower" room, one of the hotel's most prominent symbols and a showcase of its distinctive architectural heritage.

The delegation also held a special meeting with Ms. Abtass Hamlaoui, head of the National Civil Society Observatory, at the same hotel.

Following this, the delegation proceeded to the Martyrs' Memorial, then visited the National Museum of the Heroes, where they reviewed pages from the history of the Algerian Revolution and its heroic feats.

Today's visit concluded with a walk through the Didiouh Merad Street, passing by the Central Post Office Square, before the group proceeded to the Flowering Clock Garden to take a commemorative photo marking the end of this rich cultural experience at the heart of Algiers' capital.
